Our children are developing a sense of object permanence, which is the ability to understand that something still exists even when he/she can’t see it. Therefore, as teachers we have the responsibility to provide our children the opportunity to enhance their abilities to explore and discover. Children enjoy playing peek-a-boo, and hiding games. It is exciting for them to discover what is hiding. These games encourage children to investigate and understand the world through their motor abilities. This is a critical cognitive milestone.
